Challenge
A long-term client of Cornerstone, a family-owned hospitality group, required upskilling of managers and supervisors, across different venues, to effectively manage employee matters in line with laws and regulations. The goal was to provide management with guidance and support to ensure all employees were aware of their responsibilities and obligations when dealing with HR compliance matters.
Action
Having a good understanding of the business, and the goals of senior management in reducing exposure to risk and fostering a healthy work environment, Cornerstone developed a training workshop to address key HR compliance matters in line with employment laws; policies and procedures; business and industry requirements; and existing issues in the workplace.
Outcome
Given the need to run the workshops via video conference, the content was created with a remote audience in mind, ensuring engagement with industry specific examples and activities, resulting in a positive takeaway for all attendees. Following the workshops, supervisors and managers were better educated on their roles and responsibilities when dealing with day-to-day employee matters, and nipping or escalating issues as soon as they arise to avoid any serious ramifications.
